DEPECHE MODE SHUTS DOWN FANMAG
It has been known for quite a while but now it's official, Depeche Mode are closing down their quarterly fan magazine.
The 52nd edition of Bong Magazine will be the last to be mailed out to subscribers. The band say their official website
has taken over as the leading source of official information. Two devoted Bong editors lose their jobs due to the the
magazine closing down. Bong 52 will be published in June. The magazine had been losing subscribers at fast speed with
the official website getting more and more known.

MARTIN GORE TO DO COVER ALBUM
While Depeche Mode is taking a break, the band's songwriter, Martin Gore, will be using the time off to begin work on
a solo album of covers. In a talk with Kevin Raub from CDNOW Martin says: "I thought rather than sit at home doing
nothing, I might go make a covers record, so I'm just doing a covers record on my own this year." While a tracklisting
has already been worked on the songwriter said it was too early to reveal his intended track listing. Gore will begin
recordingwork in his California based home record. Gore's previous solo effort, "Counterfeit e.p.", was released in
1989 on the Mute label. Let us also remind you that DM singer Dave Gahan is also finishing the recording of his debut
solo album.

In releated news, the rumour is the Summer tour has been cancelled after one of
the members pulled out of it. In the official statement giving by the band there's no
mention of the tour as if plans never existed... However it may be believed that the band
hurried up the official statement because the news was leaked to Side-Line and other websites such as Halo's DM page.

Rumoured dates Exciter Summer tour incorrect
At least that is what is announced on the Halo Depeche Mode webboard, known for being rather well informed.
According to an insider, the tentative tour dates recently posted on the same board are said to be a "pure fabrication".
However, other sources revealed Side-Line that even though the dates might be fake, the places announced on the very
list are not so ficticious. In further news, the "Excited" double DVD initially slated for a March release has been
pushed back. No new release date has been set though an April-May release is believed to be likely.
